100TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE REPUBLIC A CENTURY-OLD INHERITANCE
The Republic of Türkiye has become a century old and is celebrating its 100th anniversary since its foundation on October 29, 1923. The Republic of Turkey, founded by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, has had a century-old heritage since its foundation up to the present. The Republic, founded a century ago under Atatürk’s leadership,, was established after the War of National Independence where the Turkish people fought for the independence of the country and the freedom of its people. Adhering to the expression of Atatürk, "The Republic of Turkey will survive forever", the motive behind this book project is to protect the hundred years experience of the Republic and to understand its significance for our nation.
Understanding Atatürk goes hand in hand with understanding the notion of a nationalist modernization system. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk believed in the fact that modernization can only be achieved by following the studies on the issue under the leadership of science, and he expressed this principle again and again and ensured that this principle was adopted by the Turkish nation.
This book includes studies carried out by researchers working different fields of social sciences in order to contribute to the century-old heritage of the Republic. In the book, the studies on such different fields from history to sociology, from literature to linguistics, from the Republic as a regime of morality, character and values to Atatürk's intellectual heritage, from the intellectuals of the Republic to the foundations of the period, from history to sociology, from literature to linguistics, from sports to mathematics mathematics, are collected and presented as a single volume . ARTVIN BIBLIOGRAPHY
Bibliography studies are, in the general sense, those that reveal the necessary information about what has been researched and what has not on the subject under investigation, and which sources have been included in the studies and which have not, and thus, offer a comprehensive literature to researchers. ARTVIN HISTORICAL RESEARCH-1
Artvin, one of the important cities of the Eastern Black Sea Region, makes a distinguished a name for itself with its historical texture as well as its geographical features. The city, which has hosted many nations throughout history due to its location, continues to contain traces of various cultures still at the present. The different place names encountered as a reflection of this condition help us understand the city in terms of its Turkish history. Artvin which was introduced the presence of a new religion and a culture through the influence of the first Muslim conquests from the middle of the 7th century; in the following periods, the city was under Seljuk rule till the end of the 11th century, thereby becoming a Turkish homeland concurrently by the great Kipchak migrations. Following the Ottoman conquest of the region, Artvin and its surroundings, which can be traced in more comprehensive sources, were named as Livane in the Hurufat books. The administrative and economic structure of Artvin in the 19th century, where many foundations were located both in the city as well as in its districts, contributes to the evaluation and effect of the Turkish-Islamic civilization as a border city. The cherished memory of the people of Artvin, who participated in various struggles from the War of 1993 to the Korean War, continues to be kept alive in the martyrs' cemeteries in Artvin and its surroundings.

POPULATION BOOKS OF ŞAVŞAT (SATLİL) SANJAK (1835)
Recently, interest in researches on population records has been increasing within urban history studies. Population records have an important place in the origin and genealogy research of individuals and families. The first census accepted in the modern sense in the Ottoman Empire was made in 1831 under the reign of Mahmut II. These data collection studies have undoubtedly been providing researchers great opportunities in terms of the period they cover. In addition to expressing the current quantity of the society, population which is the basic element of social structure, provides data about the demographic structure can be clarified by revealing many economic, social and cultural elements of that society. Starting from the data obtained from the Şavşat population book, we see that Muslims, Armenians and a small amount of Copts lived in the region. Muslims constitute a significant majority in the region. We also obtain more or less information about the economy of the region in the population books. While agriculture and animal husbandry are carried out in the villages, we see that some professional groups gather in the center. Those who are working on naming patterns in the region can refer to population books. Naming the newborn the names of Islamic elders or family elders is a very common tradition. It is understood that such a tradition is also common among non-Muslims. In this study, we think that a significant contribution will be made to the studies of Artvin city history, we believe that it will contribute to the history of the city by evaluating the data regarding the demographic structure, economy, social and cultural situation of the region.
